2005 Reilly's Stolen Block Shiraz

The fruit for this wine was hand picked from Reilly’s 85 year old non-irrigated Stolen Block vineyard, then open fermented and gently basket pressed before spending 2 years maturating in American Oak hogsheads.

Totally opaque black dark red colour with very deep black dark red hue. The nose exhibits quite perfumed aromas of perfectly ripened blackberry and liquorice followed by some dark chocolate, vanilla and confectionary notes. Densely textured with monstrous palate weight and richness the palate is an explosion of opulent liquorice and aniseed flavours followed by some dark chocolate and spice with a vanillin oak overlay. Velvet smooth tannins. Long liquorice, aniseed, vanillin confectionary and spice aftertaste.
