2005 is widely considered to be an exceptional vintage for Riesling in the Clare Valley and this wine lives up to all expectations. This is winemaker Brian Croser’s last vintage at Petaluma and he considers that the 2005 Riesling will develop into one of the all time classics.
A very cool January and February preceded a perfect March picking period. The 7 month heat summations were inflated by an unseasonably warm April but in fact the Riesling grapes were off the vine and in the winery by the end of March in very cool autumn conditions.

An outstanding Riesling from Petaluma.

Brilliant pale straw colour with water like hue. Superb nose, aromatic and intense with lime top notes followed by orange blossom. On the palate the lime is dominant over the lemon and orange rind infusions. Crisp acid finish. Very long aftertaste of lemon, lime and orange blossom.
Cellar 3-5 years (2009-2011)
Alc/Vol: 13%
