2005 Peel Estate Old Vine Zinfandel

Opaque black dark red colour with deep dark brick red hue. The nose displays lifted aromas of black cherry and liquorice as top notes followed by some Christmas cake and spice notes. The palate is huge with dense super concentrated flavours of ultra ripe black cherry, liquorice and spice followed by some leathery back palate characters. Dry, slightly chalky but balanced tannins. Long aftertaste of black cherry, liquorice and spicy leather. Tasted from an opened bottle.
Drink over the next 2-3 years (2011-2014).
