2005 Olsen Wines Cabernet Sauvignon

This Cabernet has had 18 months barrel maturation. Totally opaque black crimson colour with very deep dark crimson red hue. The colour is holding up exceptionally well. Aromas of blackcurrant, spicy cedar and cigar box are followed by a touch of earth as an end note. Medium to full bodied the palate possesses plenty of structure with potential for further cellaring. Flavours of blackcurrant, spice and cedar are followed by some earthy cigar box characters with the spiciness persisting onto the back palate. There’s a trace of bitterness on the finish with dry, slightly firmish tannins but in balance. Aftertaste of blackcurrant, cedar, cigar box and earth.
Cellar a further 3-4 years (2014-2015).
