2005 Mitolo G.A.M. Shiraz

For those who are wondering what GAM is all about – it just happens to be the initials of the owners 3 kids! An outstanding wine. Opaque black crimson colour with deep black crimson hue. Top note of liquorice, followed by spice, blackberry and vanilla with a hint of violets as an end note. The palate delivers generous ‘joosy’ McLaren Vale flavours of liquorice, plum and spice. Perfect balance. Long aftertaste of spice, blackberry and black pepper.

Fashioned from a McLaren Vale vineyard, the 2005 Shiraz G.A.M. (named after the Mitolo children – Gemma, Alexander, and Marco) is a deep ruby/purple-hued effort displaying beautiful blackberry, white pepper, licorice, and toasty oak notes. Rich, full-bodied, and intense, with blueberry and blackberry flavors, sweet tannin, and excellent purity, it is a tour de force in winemaking. Enjoy it over the next decade.
