2005 Bordeaux has received widespread critical acclaim as one of the greatest vintages in living memory and this has not been restricted to just the classified growths . Many of the lesser known terroirs or appellations have excelled in 2005, Robert Parker stating “…these are some of the finest wine bargains of the world…”

Parker describes the wines from such Estates as 'Little Big Ones', adding 'These wines represent many earnest, sincere, over-achieving men and women who are taking unheralded, less prestigious terroirs and turning out brilliant wines...If you are a wine consumer, this is where to spend your money'.

Winemaker Pascal Delbeck is one of Bordeaux’s leading winemakers, who for 20 years was responsible for the wines produced at Chateau Ausone. This wine is composed of a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Very deep crimson mauve colour with mauve hue. Top note of blackcurrant, spice and confectionary. The palate has good weight with flavours of confectionary, blackcurrant, spice and truffle. Fine grained tannins. Long aftertaste of blackcurrant and spice.
