Jim Barry has a wonderful expression “sometimes it takes longer than a lifetime to do a life’s work… It’s now up to my children”. Jim Barry was the first qualified winemaker to practice in the Clare Valley, after having spent 22 years at the Clare Vale Co-operative. He then joined the Taylor family creating Chateau Clare, which subsequently was renamed Taylors. After a four year stint he decided to go it alone, purchasing his first block in 1959, subsequently growing the business through to today.

Opaque black crimson colour with black crimson hue. Delicate nose with hints of liquorice, spice, mocha and blackberry. Mouthfilling palate with excellent weight and balance. Flavours of spice, blackberry and vanilla, with liquorice allsorts back palate. Fine grained tannins, perfect balance. Aftertaste of plum, liquorice and spice.
Cellar 3-4 years (2010-2011)
Alc/Vol: 15%
