2005 Henry's Drive Reserve Museum Release Shiraz

We introduced the wines of Henry's Drive back in 2001. It was a new venture by Sarah and Sparky Marquis, the dynamic duo behind the 'Mollydooker' wines. This magnificent Padthaway Shiraz is reminiscent of the Marquis’ best efforts in the earlier part of the decade when they were still at the helm.

It displays a totally opaque, inky black heart and very deep black dark red hue. The nose boasts lifted top notes of liquorice, aniseed and confectionary followed by some blackberry and blackpepper notes. Full bodied and opulently rich the palate delivers a decadent flavour profile of liquorice, aniseed, blackberry and confectionary with some toasted oak, spice and blackpepper on the back palate. Velvet smooth tannins. Superb depth and exceptionally long aftertaste of aniseed, liquorice, confectionary, toast and spice. Winemaker Kim Johnston has produced a flavour explosion. Drink this super concentrated fruit bomb now or cellar a further 3-4 years (2011-2015).
