Heartland wines are sourced from the Angus Vineyard at Langhorne Creek and the Wirrega Vineyard on the Limestone Coast. Langhorne Creek enjoys a climatic phenomenon, referred to locally as the ‘Lake Doctor’. During the growing season cooling ocean breezes reduce the daytime temperatures, resulting in the production of opulent fruit flavours. The Wirrega Vineyard on the Limestone Coast shares many of the same characteristics as are evident in Coonawarra, which results in slow ripening of fruit, and again, maximum flavour profiles.

A RIPE, MOUTHFILLING CABERNET. Opaque black crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Aroma of dark chocolate, plum, blackcurrant, spice and vanilla – displaying ripe Cabernet fruit. Mouthfilling palate, supported by fine grained, slightly chalky tannins. Excellent balance with flavours of liquorice, blackcurrant and spice evident. Very long aftertaste of liquorice and blackcurrant.
Cellar 4-5 years (2010-2011)
Alc/Vol: 14.5%
