2005 Hardys Eileen Hardy Chardonnay

Bright pale gold colour with straw hue. Top note of yeast lees, followed by strong hazelnut and cashew notes and finishing with melon and fig. A wine with quite obvious barrel ferment character. Creamy texture. Flavours of yeast lees, biscuit cashew and citrus over a spicy oak and lemon toast background. There is a touch of bitterness on the back palate that distracts from the flavour profile.
