2005 Guerrieri Rizzardi Pojega Corvina Corvinone Ripasso

Ripasso is a process that increases the amount of flavour and interest in Valpolicella. The Valpolicella wine is passed over unpressed but drained must of Amarone. The bittersweet intensity of Amarone is imparted to a degree on the basic Valpolicella. It is thought that some minor secondary re-fermentation takes place also. Medium body crimson colour with crimson hue. Perfumed nose of confectionary and spice followed by some raspberry and cherry notes. On the palate cherry and raspberry flavours emerge with a hint of tropical fruit in the background. Soft tannins.
