2005 Geoff Merrill Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Sourced from 55% Coonawarra fruit and 45% McLaren Vale the wine was matured for 30 months in small oak barrels. Opaque black dark red colour with very dark brick red hue. The nose is showing signs of development with aromas of blackcurrant intermixed with some old leather, cedar, earth and spice. Medium weight the palate is generously flavoured with blackcurrant fruit overlaid by some leather, cedary tobacco, earth and spice. Soft rounded mouthfeel with velvet smooth tannins. Long spicy blackcurrant, leather and cedary cigar box aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
