The Dutschke family has a history dating back to the 1930’s on their Barossa property but it wasn’t until the mid 1970’s that they first planted their beloved Shiraz grape. Fruit was initially sold off to other producers such as Krondorf & Mildara Blass until 1990 when Ken & Wayne decided to keep some of the fruit for themselves and start producing wine of their own under the brand "Willow Bend". It wasn’t until the 1998 vintage that the Dutschke label was launched.

GHR is God’s Hill Road. The GHR Shiraz is sourced from several top growers whose vineyards are located along Gods Hill Road in the Lyndoch Valley. This is a big plump full favoured Barossa Shiraz. The wine was matured for 18 months in new and older American & French Hogsheads.
Very deep black crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Top note of vanilla, followed by spice, black pepper and violets delivering an impressive lift! The palate reveals flavours of vanilla, black pepper and spice over a very spicy back palate. Fine grained tannins. Long aftertaste of vanilla, black pepper and spice.
Cellar 4-5 years (2011-2012)
