Bottlings from Glasgow's most successful grain distillery are uncommon. Established in 1927 on the south side of the River Clyde (opposite Glasgow Green), distillation takes place in a two column system with most of the output destined for Pernod Ricard blends, like Chivas and Ballantines. Douglas Laing somehow scored a cask and matured it for eleven years before a finishing in a first fill sherry barrel. Expect a sweet, uncomplicated whisky, full bodied with dried fruits, coffee essence, demerara sugar, nuts and caramel. 638 bottles. Non chill filtered. 55.5% Alc./Vol.
