2005 Domaine Jean Monnier & Fils Volnay

Semi translucent dark red mauve colour with deep mauve hue. The nose displays a very elegant aromatic profile with aromas of meaty dark cherry, spice and cedar. The tannins on this wine are quite dry and chalky giving the wine a chewy leather like texture. The flavours are somewhat subdued by the tannins with some meaty earth, cedar and spice characters making an appearance. Moderate power with aftertaste of earth, dried meat and cedar.
