In recent years La Tour Blanche has produced a string of outstanding wines, particularly the 2001 and 2003 with the 2005 vintage looking to follow suit. It is now rated as one of the top houses in Sauternes producing wines with amazing richness, power and an exotic decadence whilst also possessing great ageing potential.

The Chateau is State owned and is home to a research centre where future winemakers learn their trade. The wine is usually a blend of 70% Sémillon, 20% Sauvignon Blanc, and 10% Muscadelle and is fermented in a combination of oak barrels and stainless steel tanks, followed by ageing in 100% new oak barrels for 18-24 months.

Other Reviews….
Intense aromas of dried pineapple, honey and tropical fruit. Full-bodied and superdense, with masses of fruit. It goes on and on. Seductive. Fantastic. Could be the 2003 in the remake.
