Winemaker Michael Fragos has revitalised Chapel Hill since his arrival in 2004, the wines taking a quantum leap in quality after some disappointing efforts in the early part of this decade. Michael and his winemaking team were rewarded for their hard work this year at the London International Wine and Spirit Competition winning the Wolf Blass Trophy for “Winemaker of the Year”. On top of this achievement the 2005 Chapel Hill Cabernet Sauvignon took out the Warren Winiarski Trophy for the Best Cabernet Sauvignon of the Show.

Opaque black crimson colour with black crimson hue. Perfumed nose of violets, cassis and blackcurrant, showing strong varietal character. The palate reveals flavours of blackcurrant, spice and liquorice, followed by a hint of dark chocolate and mocha. Fine grained tannins. Peppery back palate, with just a touch of mint emerging. Aftertaste of dark chocolate, mint and mocha with spiciness persisting.
