2005 Brand's of Coonawarra Chardonnay

The Chardonnay fruit was harvested in the cool of the morning and pressed immediately, utilizing the free run juice only for the wine. The juice was settled for 48 hours and transferred into stainless steel tanks where fermentation was started, then completed in French oak casks to ensure the development of complex flavour profiles. The lees were stirred on a weekly basis for ten months with the wine developing classic barrel ferment characteristics.

Bright pale gold colour with straw hue. Intense barrel ferment nose, with top note of hazelnut, biscuit and yeast lees, followed by a toasted oak, fig and melon end note. Mouthfilling palate flavours of fig, yeast lees and hazelnut. Creamy texture. Aftertaste of yeast lees, citrus and hazelnut.
