Yalumba was one of the first wine companies to plant Viognier in Australia. 1.2 hectares were planted in 1979 which resulted after Yalumba’s winemaker, PETER WALL, visited Condrieu in the Rhone Valley. Today, Yalumba has the largest Viognier plantings in the Southern Hemisphere, which has enabled it to develop the variety across a number of price points.

Brilliant straw colour with water like hue. The nose is subtle with hints of tropical fruit, spice and honeysuckle emerging. The palate displays moderate length and power, followed by some sour tropical fruit on the turn characteristics, which slowly builds on the palate. Spicy back palate, followed by a hint of citrus.
