This is the second in a trio of magnificent Chardonnays made by Peter Flewellyn. "Warri" is an aboriginal word which means "wind", and those of you who have been through the Geelong district will be aware of the constant influence of the wind which is due to the proximity of the region to the coast. The wind is both a friend and a foe – it makes establishing young vines very difficult and tends to stunt their growth, unless some wind breaks are planted. On the other hand, it keeps vineyards disease free and reduces crop sizes by keeping fruit set under control. This is a sophisticated wine with higher acidity than Alkira and Karalla sister wines.

Bright deep straw colour with straw hue. Superb lifted nose of cashew, biscuit, yeast lees and hazelnut. Mouthfilling palate with creamy texture. Powerful melon, fig and spice flavours are overlaid by subtle oak. Perfect balance. Very long aftertaste of spicy fig.
Cellar 3-4 years (2008-2009)
