The last time that we’ve experienced such quality/price ratio was probably 30 years ago...Winemaker Ben Riggs has excelled himself and demonstrated that he is indeed the Master of Shiraz at any price point.

Since it's debut in Novemebr 2003, Three Brothers Reunion Shiraz immediately received wide spread critical acclaim: "Talk about value…Three Brothers Reunion Shiraz offers remarkable drinkability and complexity for very little money," wrote Winewise Magazine. The ’02 and ’03 sold out in record time, and as impossible as it might seem, the 2004 is even better again – in fact we believe that it is the best Three Brothers to date! The last time that we’ve experienced such quality / price ratio was probably 30 years ago, when the Australian wine industry was running massive surplus supplies of wine that remained unsold. In those days new brands were launched at $3-$4 a bottle showing superb cellaring potential, such as the original Koonunga Hill.Today, with the greatly increased plantings over the last decade, we have done the full circle and the smart winemakers are over delivering big time. The 2004 vintage will be remembered as one of the great vintages in Australia with many winemakers claiming parallels with the 1998 and 2002 vintage. It would be no exaggeration to compare this wine favourably with many $20-$30 bottles of wine. Now we know what you’re thinking, that this has to be the biggest over sell in 30 years – the wine could not be that good! Winemaker Ben Riggs has excelled himself and demonstrated that he is indeed the Master of Shiraz at any price point. The first thing that you notice about this wine is the saturation of colour – it is totally opaque black purple – certainly far, far more saturated than any other $10 bottle of wine. The nose over delivers with lifted ripe fruit, perfumed notes of vanilla, liquorice, spice and blackberry. Again a $20-$30 sniff. The palate is classic McLaren Vale, a concentrated fruit bomb. Mouthfilling palate of ripe blackberry, liquorice, vanilla and spice. Perfectly balanced tannins followed by a very long liquorice, blackberry and vanilla aftertaste.
