2004 Rolf Binder Christa Rolf Shiraz Grenache

A flavour filled red. Medium body. Bright crimson colour with crimson mauve hue. The nose is aromatic, with top notes of blood plum, black cherry and raspberry followed by a blackberry and liquorice end note. The palate has good length and delivers a spicy sensation with flavours of blackberry, liquorice allsorts, raspberry and black pepper. Fine grained, soft tannins. Long aftertaste of confectionary, raspberry and liquorice allsorts.

First Tasted 6/04/2006: Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Perfumed nose of raspberry, spice and liquorice with a plum end note. Spicy palate flavours with plum and raspberry being dominant. The mouthfeel is generous with typical Christa Rolf ‘joosy’ quality. Fine grained tannins, perfectly balanced. Very spicy black pepper aftertaste.
