2004 Phillip Island Wines Chardonnay

Deep straw colour with pale straw overlay, showing bottle development. The nose is quite complex, with aroma of biscuit, yeast lees, cashews and roast almond evident – showing strong barrel ferment character. The palate delivers some interesting flavour twists, with a layer of lemon over light grapefruit, followed by a complex nutty layer – cashew, hazelnut, almond and biscuit. The acidity is on the soft side, however, it is sufficient for the short term. Aftertaste of lemon, hazelnut and almond.
