Named after chief winemaker Andrew Wigan who has been involved in the making of every Riesling bottled under the Peter Lehmann label. The wine has a distinct 'kerosene' note which develops in some Rieslings with bottle age. Its chemical basis is reputedly the same as that found in diesel fuel (TDN - trimethyl dihhydronaphtlalene). Combined with other tertiary flavours, such as honey and toast, the 'kero' characteristic offers another layer of complexity to aged Rieslings that you'll either love or hate. Even if your first time is your last, this wine is a must experience, illustrating the incredible diversity of flavours that the varietal is capable of.

Another brilliant Wigan Riesling from Peter Lehmann.
Greenish straw colour with greenish pale gold edges and green pale straw hue. Aromatic nose with toasty characters dominating followed by some citrus, kerosene and spice notes exhibiting excellent intensity. Mouthfilling palate flavours of citrus, toast, lime and spice followed by some kerosene characters emerging on the back palate. Clean dry finish with the acidity holding up well. Superb concentration with very long aftertaste of lime, spice and toast, along with a hint of kerosene.
