Pertaringa is a partnership between Geoff Hardy and Ian Leask - two of Australia’s top viticulturalists, (Geoff is one of the 5th generation Hardy brothers.) We can recall taking Geoff on a trip to Heathcote, showing him leading Shiraz vineyards and were astonished at his ability to determine vine types from several hundred metres distance, pointing out a number of Grenache vines inter-planted in a famous Shiraz vineyard, and whilst walking down a row of Shiraz vines, he could identify rogue Malbec vines. Such is his skill.

A magnificent red

Opaque black crimson colour with black purple hue. Superb lifted nose of violet and spice followed by a hint of liquorice and blackberry. Superb, concentrated and mouthfilling palate flavours of liquorice and spice overlaid with black and white pepper. Perfect balance. Very fine tannins. Very long aftertaste of blackberry, spice and liquorice. Powerful aftertaste of black pepper.
Cellar 4-5 years (2010-2011)
Alc/Vol: 15%

Other Reviews...
Dense purple-red; immediately proclaims it's regional origin with lashings of blackberry fruit coated with chocolate; richly textured, and carries the alcohol well.
