2004 Penny's Hill Fortified Shiraz

This is a ‘baby’ Vintage Port style that needs to be forgotten. Totally opaque black purple colour with black purple hue. The wine sticks to the glass walls like paint, demonstrating its viscosity. Top note of liquorice followed by fine brandy spirit. The palate is very spicy with strong black pepper, raisin, liquorice and blackberry concentrate. The palate delivers a very dry sensation, reminiscent of the best Portuguese Vintage Ports. Excellent brandy spirit, long aftertaste of raisin cake, liquorice and plum. Alc/Vol: 18.5%
