The Bin 128 is the only red in the range of Penfolds Bin releases that isn’t a multi regional blend being sourced solely from Coonawarra. The other point of difference is that no American oak is used in the production of this wine. The wine was matured for 12 months in a combination of new (22%), one and two year old French oak hogsheads.

This is the best Bin 128 to emerge over the last few years.

Opaque black crimson colour with black purple hue. Classic top note of vanilla and blackberry followed by a hint of chocolate and spice, showing a very appealing perfumed lift. The palate displays very good weight and mouthfeel. Flavours of spice, vanilla, plum and blackberry. This is a much richer wine than past vintages of Bin 128. Fine grained tannins, with very long aftertaste of spice, liquorice and vanilla.
Cellar 3-4 years (2010-2011)
Alc/Vol: 14%
