2004 Mitolo Jester Shiraz

Outstanding colour, black crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Aroma of spice, blackberry, vanilla and plum. The palate is packed with primary fruit flavours, which is dominated by liquorice and plum overlaid with ripe blackberry, vanilla and spice. Classic McLaren Vale ‘joosy’ palate. Fine grained tannins. Very spicy aftertaste of black pepper and liquorice.

Flowery, blueberry, and raspberry-like notes cascade from the glass of this dark ruby/purple-tinged Shiraz. Elegant and medium-bodied, with hints of minerals, flowers, and blue as well as red fruits, it tastes like a Shiraz made with a Pinot Noir-like sensitivity. Stylish and elegant, it should be enjoyed over the next 3-4 years.
