2004 Marchesi Mazzei Castello Di Fonterutoli Poggioalla Badiola Sangiovese

The Mazzei family have been the proprietors of Castello Di Fonterutoli since 1435. A most impressive lineage. Deep crimson black colour with deep crimson hue. Medium body. Top note of spice, followed by cherry and a light touch of earth. The palate has good ripe fruit flavours with cherry over subtle earth. Fine dryish tannins. Cherry and earth aftertaste with fine spicy dry tannins persisting.
