This wine is a tribute to past local champions of the old Penola cricket club. The ground closed in 1996 and the property was purchased by Jim Barry wines who planted a Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard. The original pavilion and cricket pitch are still maintained on the property. Fruit for this wine is sourced from this Coonawarra vineyard along with a portion of Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and the wine matured in a combination of French and American oak for 12 months.

Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Aroma of blackcurrant, cedar and cigar box, showing excellent Cabernet characters. On the palate, flavours of cassis, blackcurrant and cedar. Fine grained, dry tannins, slightly chalky. Aftertaste of blackcurrant, cedar and cassis.
