2004 Gordon & Macphail Connoisseurs Choice Highland Park 14 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Distilled in 2004, matured in a refill American oak hogshead and bottled at natural strength as part of G&M's newly packaged Connoisseur's Choice range. Some have suggested that recent HPs lean towards the Springbank style. Serge Valentin of whiskyfun.com tasted the previous G&M edition (13 year old) commenting, " I think this is extremely good. Big bold young HP, well in the magic coastal triangle (Springbank, Clynelish, Highland Park). Expect more of the same here. Limited to 243 bottles world wide.

Notes from the bottler... Aroma: Intense sweet aromas of vanilla pod, ripe pear, and ginger accentuated with toasted malt, white chocolate, and subtle wisps of smoke. Taste: Cracked black pepper develops into flavours of ripe banana, red apples, and nectarine. Orange zest highlighted by chocolate, kiwi, and a subtle lingering charred oak and smoke edge. Finish: Smooth and fruity with a touch of underlying smoke. 58.8% Alc./Vol.
