An outstanding Chardonnay experience. This wine is produced from the BERNARD clones of Chardonnay that were selected from the best vines in Burgundy and imported into Australia in the early 1980’s. Yalumba’s ‘Single Spur’ label refers to one of the pruning techniques used on the vines that produce this wine. Each vine cane is pruned back to a single bud, which creates a small ‘spur’. The aim of this pruning regime is to limit the vines vigour, resulting in concentrated grapes.
TASTING NOTES: Brilliant straw colour with green hue. The nose displays a superb complex aroma, with an array of secondary characteristics. Aroma of biscuit, yeast lees and cashews – reminiscent of a French White Burgundy. The palate demonstrates a perfect transmission of components – call it seamless if you like, but the flow of flavours is intermeshed in such a way as to create a harmonious flavour profile without edges. Mouth filling, concentrated and creamy with great persistence. Biscuit, yeast lees, cashew, almonds and toasted oak. An outstanding Chardonnay experience. STOCKS LIMITED!
