We first met Andrew Wardlaw (Tin Shed's hippy viticulturalist) during a visit to Jasper Hill. Andrew was touring Victorian Vineyards 'economy class', picking winemaker's brains along the way. We naturally expressed curiosity in his wines. Coincidentally, Andrew had one sample bottle left, but was short on cash and needed to buy fuel for the return journey to the Barossa. In a moment of serendipity, we purchased the wine and were so impressed, we paid for his fuel and have been selling Tin Shed's wines ever since. Opaque black crimson colour with deep purple black hue. The nose heralds the voluptuous palate that is to follow. The nose is intense, with powerful notes of blackberry, violets and spice. The palate is a mouthfilling fruit bomb - flavours of plum pudding, spice and blackberries fill the palate a monumental flavours experience. Fine dryish tannins, perfectly balanced, followed by a very long aftertaste of black pepper, blackberry and dark chocolate.
Cellar 4-5 years (2009-2010)
