2003 Thompson Estate Cabernet Merlot

Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson mauve hue. Aroma of spice and confectionary followed by a hint of violet and cassis with a liquorice allsorts end note. On the palate, flavours of cassis and spice, followed by liquorice allsorts. Fine grained, very dry, chalky tannins. There is a touch of tea leaf emerging in the background. Aftertaste of blackcurrant, spice and cassis with fine grained dry tannins persisting.
