Winemaker Mick Cann is a former Bank Manager who was obviously convinced by the ‘sweet’ numbers that he could read into the winemaking balance sheet before taking the leap and establishing his own vineyard. The Shiraz and Merlot components of this wine were picked and fermented together and matured in 2nd use Allier oak. Spectacular black purple colour with purple black hue. Aroma of blackcurrant, mulberry, spice, dark chocolate and liquorice followed by a hint of earth. On the palate the mulberry flavours are a little slow to emerge but do so, followed by hint of earth and spice. The tannins are dry and persist through to the aftertaste with the mulberry characteristic making a reappearance.
