A big Heathcote red that represents great value for money. Opaque black purple colour with deep purple hue. Lifted nose of blackberry, ripe plum, liquorice and vanilla. Full bodied palate showing strong Heathcote flavours of vanilla, liquorice and blackberry overlaid with black pepper and liquorice allsorts. Fine dry, slightly chalky yet balanced tannins. Long aftertaste of plum and liquorice allsorts.
Cellar 3-4 years (2009-2010)
Alc/Vol: 15%

First tasted, February 2006:
Fantastic colour – totally opaque black purple with black purple hue. Aroma of ripe plum and spice followed by notes of blackberry, vanilla, liquorice allsorts and violets – a classic Heathcote Shiraz sniff. The palate has excellent weight with vanilla, blackberry and spice flavours evident over a black pepper back palate, however the tannins tend to be too assertive for the fruit, creating a very dry sensation. Aftertaste of crushed blackberry juice.
Rating: 89
Cellar 4-5 years (2010-2011)
