BOB MCLEAN [pictured right] is one of those ‘larger than life’ wine personalities whose career spans over thirty years, having been associated with the original Orlando and in recent years St Hallett. However, like all wine men, the urge comes sooner than later to establish their own brand – and so McLeans Farm was born. The Schubert and McLean Shiraz Cabernet is the pick of the stable. The grapes for this wine were grown on ancient limestone soils on cliffs high above the Murray River. The vines are thirty years old and receive water judiciously ensuring full flavour profile development.

Opaque black crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Superb lifted nose of blackberry, blackcurrant, violets and spice. The palate has good weight and mouthfeel, with flavours of spice, black pepper and plum emerging. Soft tannins, excellent balance with very long aftertaste of black pepper, plum and spice.
Cellar 3-4 years (2009-2010)
