An excellent example of this historic Bordeaux varietal which was introduced to Chile in 1850 but was lost to phylloxera in Bordeaux in 1867.
Opaque black crimson colour with deep mauve crimson hue. The nose has an impressive lift – aroma of black cherry, spice and violets. The palate has impressive weight with inky cherry and plum flavours. Fine grained, dry tannins, excellent balance with a long spicy, black pepper and liquorice aftertaste.
