The Progeny is produced by Tony Hunter’s kids. Tony and his wife Lyn run Sanguine Estate, which is planted on Cambrian earth. The Progeny soil profile differs from Sanguine, with the vines being planted on the leaner buckshot soils that are also found in the Heathcote district. Totally opaque black purple colour with black purple hue. Aroma of liquorice allsorts, blackberry and spice followed by endnotes of dark chocolate and mint. Generous palate with flavours of plum, prune, stewed fruit and spice. Dry chalky tannins. Moderate length, with plum, stewed fruit aftertaste.
Cellar 4-5 years (2009-2010)
Alc/Vol: 14.3%
