Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Aroma of stewed fruit, plum, liquorice and spice. On the palate, flavours of stewed fruit emerge followed by plum. Good length. Fine, dry tannins – Aftertaste of plum, spice, liquorice and stewed fruit.

First tasted, November 2004:
Made from 30 year old vines. Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Aroma of plum, vanilla, spice and chocolate. The palate reveals flavours of spice, liquorice, blackberry and mixed spice, followed by a hint of clove. Excellent palate weight and length. Fine grained tannins. Very long aftertaste of cloves, vanilla and black cherry, with liquorice allsorts and chocolate making a last minute appearance.
