2003 Mitchell Peppertree Vineyard Shiraz

Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Aroma of plum, liquorice, vanilla and spice. The palate is dominated by very dry persistent tannins which overshadow the fruit flavours of plum, spice and liquorice. The dry tannins persist into the aftertaste.

First tasted, March 2005:
Very deep crimson colour, with deep mauve crimson hue. Aroma of spice, plum and stewed fruit – surprisingly simple. The palate does not come to the rescue of the nose. Flavours of stewed fruit, mocha and coffee are evident. Fine dry tannins. Aftertaste of mocha, coffee and stewed fruit.
