2003 Ese Vineyards Chardonnay

The Brianese family planted their vineyard at Coal River Valley in 1994. The wine has been made by Julian Alcorso, who wine collectors will recall was the winemaker behind Morilla Estate – one of Tasmania’s pioneering wine companies. Brilliant pale gold colour with aroma of hazelnut, cashew and yeast lees followed by a touch of green tea. The palate is quite hard, and may yield with time, but at the moment it displays flavours of green tea, lemon and grapefruit over a subtle yeast lees and cashew background. The acidity is quite high. Aftertaste of green tea and cashew.
