2003 Dowie Doole Merlot

This wine seems to have developed prematurely. Advanced deep brick red colour with brick red hue. The wine reflects the colour, also showing advanced development. Aroma of stewed fruit and spice followed by an old leather endnote. The palate reveals flavours of stewed plum and leather. Soft tannins.

First tasted, November 2004:
A well made soft red. Bright crimson brick red colour. Medium body. Aroma of mulberry and cedar followed by hints of spice, truffle and blackcurrant. The palate has fine grained tannins, well balanced, with flavours of mulberry, cedar, spice and liquorice allsorts.
