2003 Chateau Haut Lavallade

Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Lifted nose of cedar, followed by violets and blackcurrant delivering a perfumed sniff. Fine grained tannins, support flavours of cedar and blackcurrant with typical Cabernet profile. Excellent balance. Long aftertaste of blackcurrant and cedar.

First Tasted, March 2008: Bright crimson colour with crimson hue. Medium body. Top note of confectionary, followed by blackcurrant, spice and truffle. The palate has good weight, with flavours of liquorice, plum and blackcurrant. Fine grained tannins, excellent balance. Aftertaste of plum, spice and blackcurrant.
