Chateau du Cros is situated on the opposite bank of the Garonne River to Sauternes. Proprietor Michel Boyer maintains that in great years, du Cros can produce as good a wine as any from the other side of the river. Nick Chlebnikowski recalled a visit when Boyer opened a bottle of 1927 Ch. du Cros and compared it next to a 1927 Ch. d’Yquem. He made his point!

The 2003 vintage displays a golden colour with pale gold hue. Aromas of honey, toffee and dried apricots emerge with a hint of raisin as an end note. Full and rich with a luscious mouthfeel; concentrated flavours of dried honey, apricot and spice are followed by toffee & ripe sultana nuances on the back palate. Clean finish. Long aftertaste of dried
honey, spice & ripe sultana.
