2002 Yering Station Shiraz Viognier

A full bodied wine. The colour is nearly opaque with black crimson heart, followed by a deep crimson hue. Perfumed nose of violets, blackberry and spice. The palate is drier than expected with an earthy overlay. Flavours of plum and stewed fruit emerge followed by dry slightly chalky tannins. The wine lacks depth and complexity at this stage. Dry tannins persist into the aftertaste.
