2002 Yalumba The Virgilius Viognier

Brilliant straw colour. Perfumed nose, showing those delightful exotic Viognier qualities of super ripe pear, apricots, spice and overripe paw paw. The velvet texture of the palate enhances the juxtaposition of very ripe spiced pears, apricot, paw paw and mango with the soft acid finish that will create an oily wine in a year or two. This wine is best drunk now. Very spicy back palate and aftertaste, with very long lingering after flavours of ripe pears, paw paw and tropical fruit.
