ANDREW WARDLAW & PETER CLARKE are a new generation of ‘cult winemakers’ who concern themselves solely with the pursuit of the exceptional. Last year their ‘Jasper Hill inspired’ Shiraz received brilliant critical acclaim. This year Tin Shed have extended their range of wines which amongst other varietals, now includes their “Wild Bunch” Riesling. So confident were the pair about this wine that they openly compared it to the stunning Jeffrey Grosset Polish Hill Riesling selling for around thirty eight dollars! Frankly, until we tasted the wine, we were sceptical. We now admit Wardlaw & Clarke are right.

A SPECTACULAR RESULT AND WITHOUT A DOUBT, A NEW AUSTRALIAN BENCHMARK FOR THE VARIETY.

THIS WINE IS BETTER THAN THE 2002 GROSSET POLISH HILL RIESLING & HALF THE PRICE!

TASTING NOTE: Bright straw colour. Outstanding aromatic nose with lifted notes of lime, orange blossom and floral spice. The palate has remarkable weight and concentration for a white, especially a Riesling, with mouth filling flavours of lime juice, ripe pear and lemon, followed by layers of orange peel and mandarin. Outstanding length and persistence. Perfect acidity, with an exceptionally long aftertaste. A stunning Riesling which propels Tin Shed onto the world stage.
