This is an inexpensive red, yet delivers a ‘big bang for the buck’ with its explosive liquorice, blackberry and black pepper flavours. Multiply these sensations by a factor of 10 and you’ll begin to imagine what the high end of the vintage will be like. The winemakers that we have spoken to can not recall ever, we repeat the word ever, a vintage as good as 2002."This wine is a youthful beacon of what lies ahead in 2002 reds from South Australia" Totally opaque, youthful, vibrant black purple colour. The youthful exuberance of wonderfully ripe fruit leaps out of the glass and fills the nose with strong notes of spice, blackberry, black pepper and blackcurrant. A fruit bomb is clearly evolving. The palate does not disappoint. Big mouthfeel, with an abundance of ripe primary fruit flavour. A fruit basket of ripe blackberry, blackcurrant and black pepper. Youthful, yet perfectly balanced, with exceptionally long aftertaste.
