James Halliday - 2006 Wine Companion

A fabulous offering, the 2002 Shiraz Rossco’s carries its 15% alcohol well. A big, pedal-to-the-metal wine aged in equal parts new and one-year-old American oak barrels, it boasts an opaque blue/purple color as well as sumptuous aromas of blueberries, blackberries, creosote, and vanilla. Dense, full-throttle, and rich, this classic, heavy duty Barossa Shiraz will be even better in 4-5 years, and should last for 10-15.
